A STUDY IN BLUE
oil on panel
This was painted at a lake that I frequently kayak on. The sky had really interesting clouds on this particular day...hence the low horizon line. I set myself a challenge by painting this oil painting with a limited palette. The palette I used was: Titanium White, Colbalt Blue, Cadmium Yellow Medium, and Cadmium Red Light. I experiment using limited palettes quite often and love to see how many colors I can mix from the method.
