This oil painting was done plein air in Augusta, Maine. The challenge was to find the simplicity in the bridge grid work.....I didn't need all of the detail. It would have cluttered up the scene too much. I was pleased with the result and the composition. Looking up at the bridge creates an imposing feeling.
